How you can help

Let us know

Show your compassion and offer to contact the Street Outreach team (opens in a new window).

Stop and talk (adhering to covid guidelines) - this can help with mental health and isolation.

Donate to an existing charity

Your money goes further off the street and in the hands of an outreach organisation or support network. Many local groups also need food, clothing and your time to help our street community. Following is a list of local groups and organisations.

Give clothes and food

Local bakeries and supermarkets donate fresh food. Local groups rely on the public to provide non-perishable items to keep them going. Contact the local organisations listed in the There is help out there, Mansfield food provision chart and ask them what they need.

In general the following are in need: tinned and packet foods, soup, tuna, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, sugar, biscuits and crisps. Seasonal clothes needed includes gloves, socks, underwear, jeans, warm trousers, jumpers and coats.

Report antisocial behaviour and criminal activity on 101

Being homeless is not a crime but unfortunately there is a close connection between homelessness, rough sleeping and antisocial behaviour. When living on the streets becomes a nuisance to businesses, visitors and residents of the district sometimes enforcement is necessary to combat breaches of peace and other criminal activity.

Reporting incidents is important so the police can have a better understanding of our local issues.

Contact the Street Outreach team to report any concerns about the Mansfield street community.
